If you live in our service area, contact our customer service team at [email protected] or by phone at 613-257-1195 to inquire about how to obtain blue bins. Please note, as of January, yellow and black bins have been retired as a type of waste receptacle that is distributed but are still acceptable containers.

Certain township landfills do not accept recycling in bags; recycling must be left loose in containers. Only shredded paper is allowed to be collected in clear bags.

Collection times vary based on the inclement weather, route changes, and a variety of other factors. We are unable to provide an exact time for collections; we just ask that you have your garbage and recycling on the curb by 7 am for all townships, with the exception of McNab/Braeside, which is 7:30am.

Large items are defined independently by each township, but typically consist of objects like furniture, trees or vehicles weighing over 23-100kg and larger than 2m long.  Please check our community’s section for more information about your township, visit your township website or call/email us at any time for more information.

Please send us an email at [email protected] or call us at 613-257-1195, and we will investigate your claim and share our policy and procedure to replace damaged garbage bins.

If your garbage or recycling was not picked up and there is no sticker on your bag explaining why, please call us at (613) 257-1195 or email us at [email protected]   and we will investigate the reason and schedule a pick-up if required.

Issues such as property damage, staff issues, etc should be reported as soon as possible to our main office. Please ensure supporting documentation such as photo and video is taken at the time to support the investigation process.

There is no limit to the amount of recycling residents can put out at the curb provided it is the correct week for your material (i.e. containers or fiber). Recycling needs to be in the proper bin for pickup and should not be bagged.

Any substance that poses risk to an individual or a water table, as defined by the EPA. The most common forms of hazardous waste are cleaning supplies like bleach, windshield wiper fluid and car wax, tanks containing pressurized gas or aerosol sprays such as deodorant or gasoline, farming supplies such as fertilizers, fungicides and herbicides and oils such as lubricating oils, linseed oils and motor oils.  Each township has its own definition of what qualifies as hazardous waste, so be sure to check their website to confirm.

Hazardous waste depots are located in Carleton Place and Renfrew County. Both depots are seasonal, typically opening for the season in May and closing for the season in August or September.  Additionally, you will need proof of residency for one of the communities in Lanark County in order to be clear to use a depot. Please check your municipality website to learn more about your eligibility and the depot’s current days/hours of operation. Some townships also allow hazardous waste to be disposed at their landfills to residents with proof in their area. Additionally, some retail stores will take batteries, old paint, etc. and some garages will take old motor oil. However, it is best to learn a business or public site’s rules on hazardous waste prior to visiting.
